Five Short Surah Alternatives to Surah Ikhlas For Salaat

The most recited surah in Salaat is Surah Ikhlas. The Quran contains many other Surahs too, and they can be equally suitable for recitation in Namaaz. Surah AN Nasr:

Surah AN Nasr is basically a celebration of Allah’s help, the spread of Islam, and victory.  This Surah is three verses long. This Surah contains lessons about humility. You can include Surah An-Nasr in the daily Salaat. Surah Al Kafiroon: 

 This Surah focuses on devotion to Allah. A distinction is established between Islamic monotheism and disbelief. It is a strong message regarding sincerity in worship that is why Hazrat Muhammad PBUH frequently recites this surah. Its short verses carry significance and spiritual meaning. It reminds Muslims to worship Allah and no other.

Surah Al Kausar: 

The shortest chapter in the Quran is Surah Al Kausar. It has three verses. Revealed as comfort and encouragement for the Holy Prophet PBUH. It was to assure abundance and blessings. Short and easy to memorize; that is why it is a good Surah to recite as an alternative to Surah Ikhlas. 

It teaches gratitude and a belief that Allah will bless you. While trusting Allah’s promise, it also helps you pray and sacrifice to Allah.  This surah is good for children because it is short and easy to memorize. 

Allah assures the Prophet PBUH that his enemies are the ones who will be completely cut off from history, blessings, and divine mercy.

Surah Al Asr:

It carries a powerful message even though it is one of the shortest surahs in the Quran. The message is faith, good deeds, and encouraging truth. 

Its length makes it easy to memorize. It is recited during daily prayers. It provides blessings and success. A successful life is easy to achieve when you recite this Surah and believe in Allah’s love. It strengthens your faith and helps you let go of any hurdles. 

Imam Al-Shafi’ famously noted that if Allah revealed only this Surah, it would have been sufficient for their guidance and a successful life.
