Pennsylvania Gaming Revenue Hits $595 Million in April 2026, Up 6.5% Year-over-Year

All forms of gaming in Pennsylvania, including fantasy contests, are up 6.5% year-over-year in April this year. The state generated a combined total revenue of $595 million, according to the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board (PGCB). The growth in online casino gaming and higher sports betting revenue continues to drive the overall rise across the state’s regulated gambling market.

Slot revenue

The revenue from retail slots increased. They generated $206.7 million in total, which was up 1.76% from the previous April. In April this year, 24,856 slot machines were operating, comparing to 24,363 last year. Slot machines are still one of the largest sources of revenue for land-based casinos in Pennsylvania. The tax revenue from slot machine play in April 2026 was $105 million.

Parx Casino brought in total revenue of $57 million, of which $32.7 millions of this was retail slot revenue. This was up 4.1% from April last year. There is also an online Parx Casino where Pennsylvanians can play real-money slots.

iGaming revenue

As digital streaming grows in popularity, iGaming continues to shape the gaming sector in Pennsylvania. Gross monthly revenue in April from digital platforms was $245.8 million, which was up 7.9% from April last year.

Hollywood Casino at Penn National Racecourse generated $93.6 millions of this, and Valley Forge Casino posted $69.6 million. The total iGaming revenue generated by Parx Casino was $5.7 million.

In Pennsylvania, the gambling revenue from online slots is taxed at 54%. Online slots brought in $195 million, which was up 15.17% from April 2025. Gambling revenue from online slots it subject to a 54% tax in Pennsylvania.

In addition to online slot games, licensed operators offer online table games and poker. Online table game revenue in April totaled $48 million in revenue. Online poker revenue was $2.6 million. Retail table game revenue

Retail table game revenue for April 2026 was $78.6 million, which was down 2.36% from April 2025. The revenue includes one week of operation by the newest mini-casino, Happy Valley Casino, near Penn State University and State College.

Wind Creek Bethlehem brought in the most revenue for table games at over $20 million, followed by Parx Casino at $17.3 million. For Wind Creek, it was a decrease of 13.08%, whereas for Parx, it was an increase of 7.76%. The total tax revenue from retail table games in April 2026 exceeded $13 million.

Sports wagering revenue

The US economic forecast 2026 shows growth softening in the second half of 2026, due to higher energy prices, but recovering in 2027.

The total volume handled by sports betting was $641.6 million in April 2026, 9.84% below the April 2025 total. Despite this drop in betting volume, the taxable revenue from sports betting grew significantly, with $59 million in adjusted revenue being 38.6% higher than in April 2025.

Valley Forge had the highest sports betting handle at $219.8 million with total sports wagering revenue of nearly $24 million. It was followed by Hollywood Casino at the Meadows and Hollywood Casino York.

FanDuel and DraftKings sportsbooks continue to compete, and they recorded $219.8 million and $191.5 million in total bets, respectively.

Sports betting operators must pay a 35% tax on sports betting revenue in Pennsylvania. This is one of the highest tax rates for sports betting income. Tax revenue generated by sports wagering during April 2026 was just over $21 million.
